New Features Of Android Muffin 6.0

New Features Of Android Muffin 6.0

Adoptable Storage

Android M can adopt an external storage device like micro sdcard and encrypt it, so it acts like internal storage.
With adoptable storage, you will be able to move apps and their data to microSD or other external storage devices.
But from then you cant use that adopted card for other use because of encryption.
Besides adoptable storage, a related improvement is better support for OTG USB.So whenever youu connect any external storage
via OTG to your device, you will get a popup which will let you browse the contents immediately, without having to use a file explorer.

Finger Finger Print Support And Mobile Payment

Android m now supports finger print scanner this means you can not just unlock your phone but also can authorise your payments in android pay and
confirm play store purchases with your finger print.

App Permissions

Application permissions is one of the biggest changes in Android M.
Now you can approve every permissions seperately instead of merely granting them all when you first install any application.
You can also be able to go into settings and add certain permissions whenever you want.

Like for example; If you want to record a voice message,
WhatsApp will prompt you with a

one-time request for permission to use your mic.

You can always modify the permissions granted to apps later in

your Settings.

Web Experience

Google has been focusing on user experience when interacting with websites and apps.
Chrome custom tabs is a new feature of Chrome browser. This will allow apps to open a cutomized chrome window on the top
of an active app instead of opening Google chrome browser seperatly. This will provide much faster and enhanced user experience
while dealing with the links inside other applications.

So, for example, a Pinterest custom tab will have a Pinterest share button embedded in it, can include custom overflow
menu options and doesn't require the Pinterest developers to build their own web browser.

Application Links

While browsing when user taps on a link from somewhere,Android dosen't know whether to show it in a web-browser, or
some other app that claims support for the link.
You will be familiar with "Open with" option pops up when you try to open a link within an app.
Wel, Android M can handles those links with great awareness of which apps can open content directly, instead
of popping up "Open with" prompts to users every time.

Power and Charging

Android M uses of a new function known as Doze mode to improve device standby time.
Doze mode allows your device to go to the deeper state of inactivity when you don’t use it for a while, which
means it uses less battery.App standy essentially shuts off apps that haven’t been used for a while.
And in the case system apps when your phone is unplugged, those apps will be restricted from accessing network
connectivity and any sync jobs will be suspended.
However you will have choice to choose whether you want to run specific apps or not when your phone is plugged in.

New App Drawer

Android M has new app drawer which scrolls vertically instead of horizontally in the white coloured background.
And on the top of the application menu you will your four most used applications. And down the left hand side are the alphabets
so it will be more easy to find the app through those alphabets.
